The round diamonds look as they sound, they are round shaped and have a great sparkle to them when laid out on the canvas. The canvas has a full background image, which when filled in with the round diamonds, gives the finished project a cross-stitch feel. This also leaves a little room for error when placing the diamonds which may be more ideal for younger or newer artists. However, whatever your skill lever, this cross-stitched result is a favorite for many avid Sparkle-By-Numbers diamond art painters.
The square diamonds offer a slightly more faceted look. They are square shaped with a "rubiks cube cut" and fit perfectly into the blocks on the canvas. Since they cover the entire canvas, square diamonds do offer full sparkle across the canvas, however both options offer superb sparkle with the way each resin diamond is cut. The square option is a personal preference to us here at Sparkly Selections for a few reasons. The biggest reason is that there is a sensory satisfaction that comes from aligning all the diamonds perfectly. Filling in the middle diamond of a section has a soft yet felt click as it shifts into place. While the placement of each style is the same in practice, the square kits do offer a more felt placement, and there's something beautiful about feeling the finishing touches of a section of canvas, and feeling everything 'click' into place.
